In fact, wanting things can be the way we are motivated, pushed to take on more responsibility and work harder. Having our wants in order will tell us where our hearts and motivations are.
Ideally, we want to get to a place where we find the middle ground of wanting things that get us excited and motivate us. You don’t know where you’re headed if you don’t what you want.
