Joy went to the School of Visual Arts in New York City where she received her Master of Fine Arts in Illustration in 2001.  In 2007 she received her Master of Science in architecture from Mississippi State University.  Her career began with roles providing administrative, creative, and concierge services for various companies.  

Joy is delightedly married with three children. The family lives in Springboro, OH as the children enjoy a Classical Christian Education at Mars Hill Academy in Mason, OH. They all enjoy camping and outdoor activities, family game nights, and general adventures. Joy and her husband serve in the children's ministry at LifeHouse Church in Lebanon, OH.
